Bruno Fernandes - hamstring
Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes (31) is expected to miss a spell on the sidelines after suffering a soft tissue injury, with manager Ruben Amorim confirming the playmaker will “lose some games” while the club continues to assess the full extent of the problem. The injury, feared to involve his hamstring, was sustained during Sunday’s match and will require further testing before a more precise timeline is established.
Eyewitnesses say Fernandes was limping heavily when out with friends on Monday evening. He was pictured after dining at Turquoise Restaurant in Alderley Edge. Fernandes was asked whether he would be fit for the Boxing Day clash against Newcastle, to which he replied: “No”.
Fernandes is due to be sidelined for United’s upcoming home games against Newcastle and Wolves, the New Year trips to Leeds and Burnley, the FA Cup third round visit of Brighton and the Old Trafford derby on 17 January. United head to Arsenal on 25 January, which could be the scene of Fernandes’ potential return date. (Source: Samuel Luckhurst, The Sun)
