Martin Ødegaard
Arsenal midfielder Martin Ødegaard (26) was forced off early in the club’s 3-0 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest after suffering what appears to be a recurrence of a right shoulder injury.
About 18 minutes into the match, Ødegaard landed awkwardly following a challenge from Morgan Gibbs-White, with some involvement from teammate Jurriën Timber.
He was visibly in pain, holding his right shoulder, and after some treatment tried to continue but couldn’t. He was replaced by Ethan Nwaneri.
Head coach Mikel Arteta described the injury as “very similar” to the previous shoulder injury, though he added that it’s unclear if it’s exactly the same spot.
Arteta expressed optimism that Ødegaard might still be able to play in Arsenal’s upcoming Champions League opener against Athletic Bilbao, but made no guarantees. (Source: ESPN)
