Arsenal defender Jurriën Timber (24) is currently sidelined with an ankle injury that has kept him out of action since March 2026. The Dutch international picked up the problem during Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton on March 14, when he was forced off during the first half after appearing to twist his ankle in a challenge.

Initially, the injury was not considered serious, and Arsenal expected Timber to return quickly. However, the recovery process became more complicated than anticipated, with the defender suffering setbacks during rehabilitation. As a result, he has now missed several important matches in both the Premier League and Champions League.

Manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that Timber’s situation has been difficult to manage, especially because the club expected him back much sooner. Reports from English media suggest Arsenal are still hopeful he could return before the end of the season, potentially in time for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain, although no exact comeback date has been confirmed.

The injury also forced Timber to withdraw from the Netherlands squad during the recent international break, with Arsenal opting to carefully manage his fitness after his previous long-term ACL absence. Sources including Arsenal Insider report that the club remains cautious and does not want to rush the defender back too early (Source: Arsenal Insider).
