Hjalmar Ekdal

Burnley defender Hjalmar Ekdal (27) was involved in a training-ground incident on Wednesday that left him with a black eye and a cut above his left eye — a result of an aerial collision during a defensive drill.

Despite the nasty cut — which required stitches — manager Scott Parker remains optimistic that Ekdal will be available for the upcoming clash. “We had a little incident yesterday with Hjalmar, but he should be fine.
