Daniel James
Leeds United winger Daniel James (27) has picked up an ankle injury in training, sparking concerns over a potential long-term absence. Early reports suggested the Welsh international could be sidelined for a significant period, with Wales boss Craig Bellamy also confirming the issue as an ankle problem.
However, Leeds United have moved quickly to ease fears. A club spokesperson stated that James is “currently undergoing assessment” and that “any absence is not expected to be long-term.” Manager Daniel Farke is set to provide a full update in his pre-match press conference on Thursday. Update Thursday 2 October 2025
🎙️|Daniel Farke: “Daniel James will be out for a few weeks. He sadly has rolled his ankle in training, so the doctor says he will likely be out for four to six weeks. That means realistically, we will just expect him back after the November international break. If he is available before then, perhaps for one or two games, it will be a nice little bonus and a surprise.” (Source: Leeds United)
Update Thursday 16 October 2025
🎙️|Daniel Farke: “Very positive and good news was Daniel James because he is a bit ahead of schedule in his rehab, so a compliment also to our medical department, our rehab coaches.
“He was even involved already, I would say, in major parts of team training during this week but he is definitely not in contention for the starting line-up. (Source: Leeds United)
