Ao Tanaka
Leeds United midfielder Ao Tanaka (26) has sustained a medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury to his knee during the club’s Premier League fixture against Arsenal. The incident occurred in the first half, and although he bravely carried on into the second, he was substituted around the 58th minute after discomfort became too significant.
Post-match, manager Daniel Farke confirmed the seriousness of the injury: “After a tackle in the first half, he had problems with his MCL. He kept going, and I hope it’s not too bad… He will be absent for a few weeks… in any case, but not before the international break.” (Source: PitchWire)
Update Tuesday 9 September 2025
Both Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka has joined training with Leeds United today. Both look set to be available for selection for Saturday's game. The call will be made on Thursday or early Friday morning (Source: The Leeds Way).
