Maxime Estève - knock
Burnley defender Maxime Estève (23) is edging closer to a potential return ahead of Saturday’s clash against Everton after missing the previous match due to a knock picked up in training. Coach Scott Parker confirmed that Estève has resumed running on grass during Tuesday’s session, and his condition will continue to be assessed throughout the week before a final decision is made on his availability. The injury is thought to be minor, raising optimism that he could be fit in time to feature.
🎙️|Scott Parker: “He was on the grass today, so we'll have to see a little bit nearer later on in the week whether he makes the weekend,” Parker said during today’s pre-match press conference....“Obviously, like I said previous to the Bournemouth game, it isn't a significant or a big injury, but there is a little something there. But he’s on the grass, he's running....“We'll see where we are with him a bit closer to the game on Saturday to see whether he makes it or not.” (Source: Matt Scrafton, Burnley Express)
Update Friday 2 January 2026
🎙️|Scott Parker: ¨Max [Estève] won’t make the weekend. He’s done some work on the grass today but obviously with the dynamics of how things went the last game really, it’s probably too much to risk with such a short turnaround. We can’t afford the same situation in game to have to make changes that early. We’re siding on the air of caution. Pick him up, get some good work into him and hopefully he’ll be fit for Wednesday. We’re hoping for a speedy recovery¨(Source: Burnley)
