Luke O'Nien
Sunderland defender Luke O’Nien (30) will miss the beginning of the 2025–26 Premier League campaign after undergoing shoulder surgery to repair a dislocation suffered during the Championship play-off final in May.
O’Nien was forced off early in the Wembley play-off final against Sheffield United after dislocating his shoulder while celebrating the decisive goal.
Sunderland’s injury report confirmed O’Nien has now begun his rehabilitation after the operation, alongside Aji Alese, with both expected to miss the first three matches of the Premier League season. (source: Sunderland)

🎙️| Régis Le Bris: “He had the surgery for both (of his Achilles) and worked hard last season to be connected with the squad, even if it was painful.
