Emmanuel Agbadou

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Emmanuel Agbadou (29) will miss upcoming matches after receiving a straight red card during his side’s 3-0 defeat to Fulham. The Ivorian was dismissed in the first half for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity when he brought down Josh King just outside the box.

While the foul itself was clear, controversy surrounds the incident after replays appeared to show that King handled the ball in the build-up. Despite this, VAR did not recommend a review, and referee John Brooks’ decision stood. Former Premier League official Mark Clattenburg has since claimed that the VAR made an error, arguing that “the handball was deliberate and not accidental” and that the red card should have been overturned.

As a result, Agbadou will serve at least a one-match suspension, pending any potential appeal from Wolves. The club has yet to confirm whether they will challenge the decision, though frustration remains high following several recent VAR controversies involving the team. (Source: Molineux News)
