Doubtful

Lucas Bergvall - head

1 November 2025 by Thomas Anderson

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall (19) faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a concussion during Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea. The Swedish teenager was forced off just seven minutes into the London derby after failing an on-pitch concussion test, despite his protests to continue.

Head coach Thomas Frank admitted that losing Bergvall so early disrupted his team’s game plan, and the midfielder is now expected to miss multiple matches while following the FA’s concussion return-to-play protocol.

Under current guidelines, players who suffer a concussion must rest for at least 14 days and gradually return over a 21-day period. As a result, Bergvall is likely to miss Tottenham’s Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen, next weekend’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United, and could also be unavailable for the North London derby at Arsenal on 23 November.
