Rodri - undisclosed
Manchester City midfielder Rodri (29) suffered an injury setback on 30 June during City's 4–3 loss to Al-Hilal in the Round of 16 of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.
The Spanish international was brought on in the 53rd minute but was forced off in the 100th minute—only his fifth appearance since returning from a serious knee injury. According to City manager Pep Guardiola, Rodri “complained about his situation” after coming off, suggesting complications with his recent recovery. (source: The Guardian)
Guardiola's goal has been to ensure Rodri is fully fit and match-ready by the Premier League kick-off on August 16. While that remains possible, the recent injury setback and City’s loss in the U.S. have added an extra layer of difficulty to that plan. (source: Manchester Evening News)
