Federico Chiesa

Liverpool striker Federico Chiesa (28) was a late scratch for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Marseille after picking up an injury during the pre-match warmups. Head coach Arne Slot revealed that Chiesa had stepped out of the final training session shortly after media duties and was taken with the squad as the issue was not expected to be serious. However, the winger was unable to get through the warmup and was ultimately ruled out entirely. While the injury is not believed to be long-term, it could sideline Chiesa for the short term and further disrupt his efforts to secure a consistent role in Liverpool’s rotation. 🎙️|Arne Slot: “As I said, Federico wasn’t able to be on the bench on Wednesday. Then there was a recovery session yesterday, so we have to wait and see today. It’s difficult for me to say if he’s available for Bournemouth. We don’t expect him to be out for long, so it could be 50/50, maybe, if he’s available for tomorrow.” (Source: Liverpool)
