Chelsea defender Benoît Badiashile (24) suffered a setback on 28 June 2025 during Chelsea’s opening match of the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 against Benfica. The French centre-back was forced off in the 70th minute following an injury incident described initially as "cramp," but later revealed to be something more serious.

He was later spotted on crutches on the sidelines, indicating a potentially significant injury rather than a minor issue. (source: BBC Journalist Nizaar Kinsella)
