John McGinn
Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn (30) suffered an injury during Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Fulham, which forced him off the pitch in the 72nd minute.
McGinn later admitted that he had considered leaving the match at half-time because he “couldn’t run properly.” He explained that the issue stemmed from a collision he caused in the corner — “I fouled Andersen in the corner and got a whack” — but resolved to carry on, “playing through the pain barrier.” (Source: John Townley, Birmingham Live)
The injury now leaves him a question mark heading into Thursday’s European fixture, with the club expected to assess his fitness in the coming days.
John McGinn: "I considered coming off at half-time because I couldn't run properly. It was my own fault, I fouled Andersen in the corner and got a whack. But I stayed on and played through the pain barrier. Hopefully I'll be fine for Thursday."#AVFC https://t.co/vxLn6YQQlh
